Bible Verse

“And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food.” — Genesis 2:9

CEV 9 The Lord God filled the garden with all kinds of beautiful trees and fruit trees. Two other trees were in the middle of the garden. One of these gave life — the other gave the wisdom to know the difference between right and wrong.

NLT 9 The Lord God made all sorts of trees grow up from the ground — trees that were beautiful and that produced delicious fruit. In the middle of the garden he placed the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Bible Story

God made all kinds of plants and trees. He created fruit trees that give us food, like apples and oranges. He made tall trees that give us shade and beautiful flowers that bring joy. Plants and trees clean the air and make our world colourful and healthy. God thought of everything we would need and made it for us to enjoy.

Thinking Time

What is your favourite tree or plant, and why?

How do plants and trees help us live?

Why is it important to take care of the plants around us?

Reflection

Plants and trees are God’s gifts to us. They give us food, clean air, and beauty. We should be thankful and take care of the plants God made.

Application

Plant a seed or water a plant today. Talk about how it grows and how God made it special.
