Hello friend, my name is JAG Robles (short for Jonathan Andre Galindo Robles), the creator, administrator, and a Bible study presenter at Bible Study Express – a Christian ministry that is supportive of the mission and beliefs of the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist church.

Bible Study Express is a website that makes it easy for Bible study presenters to put together Bible studies, while also making it easy and enjoyable for visitors to read and learn from the Bible studies presented.

The core aim and idea behind Bible Study Express has been around since my early days of the 1980s, when the Web was not even around yet! The seed to this system originated from the thoughtfulness of my father, Fabian Galindo (a proficient missionary, lay pastor, and evangelist during his younger days in South America), who provided me a pocket size, lose leaflet Bible study series for me to enjoy. From that time onwards, I developed a love and passion for Bible studies and on-and-off over the years, I tried to develop both analogue and digital solutions to make Bible studies easier to create, enjoy and distribute.

At the time of the death of my daughter Alekksis back in 2012, God impressed me to become publically active in Bible study presentations. I answered God’s call by making a deal – that I would accept any offers that came my way to present Bible studies within and without the church. What an incredible time that was! Pastors and individuals were asking me to take Bible studies up to several times per week! I was taking Bible studies in the morning and afternoons on Sabbath days at church, then through the week to individuals and eventually ending up pastoring up to 20 individuals per week, running a weekly Community Bible School and a “Steppingstone” church once a month. This high demand for Bible studies and administration requirements prompted me to modify one of my website content management systems to not only help me create and publish Bible studies with greater ease, but also have systems in place to help me track and care for the people God had appointed me to care for. This system served me well for almost ten years, until COVID-19 changed everything!

In early 2020, after I started a “stay-at-home church” website (www.stayathome.church [URL:https://stayathome.church/]) as a response to the pandemic and preventive lockdowns, my father also felt inspired to put together a website to help Spanish speaking church going people in Australia and abroad by offering them a “church-at-home” solution. This idea became (www.iglesiaencasa.info [URL:https://iglesiaencasa.info/]). However, the demands of editing and putting together content for two websites in my spare time on a weekly basis became too much, so I decided to concentrate my efforts to help my father in his website only.

For one year my father and I teamed up running his website, then, when the COVID-19 restrictions were easing, and challenges in my life made it difficult to consistently continue helping my father, God impressed me to come up with something new – a system that would allow people like my father (who is getting close to 80 years of age) and as young as my then 6 year old daughter Anjelikka to be able to maintain a Bible study centric website all on their own. This was going to be a huge challenge!

The best way to ensure that the system would work for my father was to involve him in every step of the development of this new content management system. Because my father wanted to present Bible studies in Spanish, this created an extra layer of challenges. After around 700 hours of coding, designing, testing and listening to the input and suggestions from my father and others, young and old, as well as applying tips and ideas from the years presenting Bible studies to the community, the system was working well enough for Bible studies to be edited and presented with ease! Both my father, wife, daughters and a couple of other people were successfully putting together content from their phones and desktop computers without much trouble or help from me!

Now, as I write this, almost at the end of 2021, and after just over 1,000 hours of development, my father has diligently and independently been converting, editing and presenting Bible studies in his new website (getting close to 500 in total) – www.EstudiaLaBibliaHoy.com [URL:https://estudialabibliahoy.com/] (which translates to, Study the Bible Today) and I have been slowly adding some of my own studies in this website, with other presenters also coming on board, including young Anjelikka (see her first Bible study presentation here [URL:https://biblestudy.express/anjelikka/seven-reasons-why-god-allows-suffering-and-fiery-trials]) – a Bible study based on a sermon handout by our local church pastor.
