Bible Verse

“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” — Genesis 1:3

CEV 3 God said, “I command light to shine!” And light started shining.

NLT 3 Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

Bible Story

On the first day, God created light. He spoke, and darkness turned into bright, shining light. God separated the light from the darkness, calling the light “day” and the darkness “night.” Light brings warmth and makes everything bright and beautiful. God’s light helps us see the world and reminds us of His power and goodness.

Thinking Time

What did God create on the first day?

Why is light important for our world?

How does God’s light make you feel?

Reflection

God’s light is powerful and brings life to the earth. We can thank Him for giving us light and for the warmth and brightness it brings.

Application

Turn on a light or look at the sunshine. Think about how God created light and how it helps us every day. Say a prayer to thank God for the gift of light.
